Users can create wallets in NGN, USD, GBP, CAD and more, easily convert between currencies, and send or receive funds instantly. For merchants, Linq enables tap-to-pay transactions using NFC wristbands with configurable price presets, bridging digital payments with real-world selling scenarios.

Problem

The "Last Mile" payment gap. Travellers and diaspora Nigerians often face difficulties making local payments in Naira while visiting Nigeria. Carrying physical cash is risky, and current solutions lack seamless foreign exchange (FX) integration or acceptance by local merchants.

Solution & Experience

We built a dual-sided marketplace. Linq is a mobile-first cross-border app that lets users pay local merchants directly from foreign bank accounts via QR codes, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. All payments are converted in real time at transparent FX rates.

Final thoughts

This project emphasized the importance of building trust in financial products through clear communication and intuitive design. Working on Linq reinforced how small UX decisions can significantly impact user confidence and conversion in payment flows. Future improvements could focus on deeper customization and scalability, while maintaining a simple and reliable experience for growing businesses.
